"How long does a brake job take?"
Pads only: 1-2 hours – you can wait if you like.
Discs and pads: 2-3 hours – wait or drop off.
Full overhaul: Half a day – best to drop off, we'll call when ready.
"Do I need to replace discs and pads together?"
Not always. If your discs are in good condition (no grooves, not too thin, not warped), you can just do pads. We'll measure and tell you honestly.
But if discs are worn, fitting new pads on old discs wastes money – they'll wear unevenly and you'll be back sooner.
"My brakes are squealing – is it dangerous?"
Squealing usually means the wear indicators are doing their job – telling you the pads are getting low. It's a warning, not an emergency, but don't ignore it.
Grinding is more urgent – that's metal on metal, meaning pads are gone and you're damaging the discs. Get it checked soon.
