🚗 Every Type of Driver on the Road (and Which One Are You?)
🤣 We all know “that driver” — but which one are you?
“The Car Friend Institute of Driver Behaviour”
Welcome to the Car Friend Institute of Driver Behaviour — where clipboards meet chaos and science takes a back seat (literally).
After a rigorous “study” involving tea, traffic jams, and a suspicious number of near-roundabout incidents, we’re proud to unveil the 10 Official Types of UK Driver.
Prepare to meet yourself somewhere on this list.
🦸♂️ 1. The Overtaker
Lives life one car ahead. Thinks every journey is qualifying for Silverstone.
Catchphrase: “Just nipping past this one…”
Favourite lane: All of them, at once.
🕵️♀️ 2. The Mirror Checker
Always checking, never signalling. Mirrors immaculate. Still manages to surprise everyone at junctions.
Catchphrase: “Indicators are optional.”
Favourite pastime: Cleaning mirrors more than windows.
🧓 3. The Sunday Driver
It’s not Sunday, but that doesn’t matter. Calm, steady, occasionally in front of you when you’re late.
Catchphrase: “What’s the rush?”
Favourite music: Classic FM at level 2.
📱 4. The Multitasker
Coffee? Check. Sat nav? Check. Phone? Also check (unfortunately).
Looks busy enough to run a small business from the driver’s seat.
Catchphrase: “I’m just at the lights…”
Favourite accessory: Wireless charger.
💨 5. The Roundabout Philosopher
Signals early, late, or not at all — but always with meaning known only to them.
Believes every roundabout is a test of faith.
Catchphrase: “They know what I mean.”
Favourite shape: Circle.
🎶 6. The DJ
Stereo louder than the exhaust. Knows every lyric and wants you to know it too.
Catchphrase: “I love this bit!”
Favourite hobby: Vibration testing their door panels.
🧠 7. The Know-It-All
Has an opinion on every road sign, speed camera, and gear shift you make.
Usually found giving advice you didn’t ask for.
Catchphrase: “You should really downshift there.”
Favourite audience: Anyone trapped in the passenger seat.
🪣 8. The Clean Freak
Their car shines brighter than your future.
Won’t drive in rain. Has more microfibres than Halfords.
Catchphrase: “Don’t touch the windows.”
Favourite smell: Freshly waxed dashboard.
🧊 9. The Winter Warrior
Snow? Ice? Apocalypse? They’ve got de-icer, gloves, scraper, shovel, and a flask of tea.
They’re the heroes you want behind you in January.
Catchphrase: “Prepared? Always.”
Favourite season: Any with grit.
🧁 10. The Snack Driver
Can operate cruise control and open a packet of crisps with one hand.
Back seat is 50 % food wrappers, 50 % regrets.
Catchphrase: “Just one more bite.”
Favourite smell: Salt & vinegar.
